One purpose-built platform for every CODESYS V3 project.
One parser, a wide ecosystem.
CODESYS isn’t a single vendor’s IDE. It’s the engineering platform behind a long list of OEM-branded environments, and PLCs.ai’s CODESYS V3 support extends across all of them through one shared parser.
Schneider Machine Expert is next on the list. CODESYS 2.3/V2 isn’t supported yet.
The Import Report: naming what isn’t there.
A CODESYS export carries no tag table and no hardware/I/O module tree — the two things Rockwell’s L5X and Siemens’ TIA exports provide. Every CODESYS upload gets an Import Report that names exactly what was captured, what wasn’t, and what the project references but doesn’t contain, so the AI reasons from evidence instead of silence.
Purpose-built skills for your program logic.
Detects waiting times and cycle-time bottlenecks in your program logic.
Finds disabled, bypassed, or unreachable POUs and networks.
Audits safety interlocks, bypasses, reset logic, and stored-energy de-energization.
Finds missing or broken handshake signals between sequenced stations.
Finds race conditions, multiple writers, and scan-order bugs across tasks.
Locates a variable and traces every read and write site across the project.
CODESYS, answered.
What CODESYS file formats does PLCs.ai support?
CODESYS V3 project exports, from first-party CODESYS environments and OEM platforms including WAGO, ABB, Eaton, Bosch Rexroth, Festo, Lenze, ifm electronic, Phoenix Contact, and Turck. CODESYS 2.3/V2 isn't supported yet.
Is my CODESYS code used to train AI models?
No. Your project data is isolated per organization and is never used to train PLCs.ai's models or any third-party model.
Does PLCs.ai understand object-oriented CODESYS logic?
Yes. EXTENDS, IMPLEMENTS, Methods, Properties, and Interfaces are analyzed as their own layer, including the fact that a call through an interface-typed variable can dispatch to any implementer.
Can I mix CODESYS PLCs with Allen-Bradley or Siemens on the same line?
Yes. 3D Line Context groups every PLC on a production line — Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and CODESYS included — into a single intelligent surface you can query in plain English.
Does PLCs.ai only read the project file, or can it see live data too?
Not yet. CODESYS V3 support today is static project analysis — parsing, troubleshooting, documentation, and code generation. Live tag streaming via the Desktop Companion App works today for Allen-Bradley and Siemens; CODESYS is on the roadmap.
Does PLCs.ai connect to my version control?
Yes. GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Copia, and octoplant are all live today, connected read-write — no migration, no duplicate copies of your CODESYS project.
